The 124th winner of the 2000 Guineas, held on Wednesday 27th April 1932 over the Rowley Mile, was Orwell (Evens fav), a brown colt by Gainsborough out of Golden Hair, owned by Mr Washington Singer. The winner won by 2 lengths in 1 minute 42.60 secs, with a length and a half back to the third. A field of 11 runners contested the race which was worth £5,050 (Equivalent to £316,600 in 2017)
